Best Dressed Person 2007

Anthony Ryan’s, Galway’s leading fashion store continued their sponsorship of the ‘Best Dressed Person’ competition on Ladies Day, Thursday 2nd of August the 2007 Galway Races.

The Fashion Event of the year took place at Lady’s Day in Ballybrit today. Never before has there been such widespread interest in Ladies Fashions and the ladies turned out in their thousands to impress the judges.
The fashion statement was sophisticated, elegant, colourful, feminine and chic.

For all Fashionists of course the all important head piece or hat played a major part on Lady’s Day. Whether it was casual or elegant, simple or elaborate every outfit looked complete with a headpiece or hat. There was nothing quiet like the display of hats and headpieces at Ballybrit.

This year’s judges are leading officiators from the Irish fashion world. They included one of Ireland's most stylish women Celia Holman-Lee, Editor of the Irish Independents weekend magazine Bairbre Power, queen of entertainment Lorraine Keane, Managing Director of Galway Now Patricia McCrossan and Editor of Social and Personal PJ Gibbons.

The Best Dressed Person was generously sponsored by Galway’s Leading Fashion Department Store Anthony Ryan Ltd. The winner of the 2007 competition was Sinead Donneely who received a generous shopping prize of €4,000 from Anthony Ryan’s. Runner-up Emily Jean O’Byrne received a shopping prize to the value of €2,000 also sponsored by Anthony Ryan Ltd. The Ardilaun Hotel sponsored the ‘Best Hat’ competition which was won by Eva Hayes who won a return trip for two to Boston. To round up the prize giving each finalist received a Versace cosmetic gift pack from University Pharmacy Galway.
