At the Galway Races we try to boost your chances of winning. Here’s some chances to win great prizes for all race goers

Race Card Competition:

Enter the free daily Race Card Competition open to all race goers. Simply fill in the form on your race card and drop it in the draw drum at the back of the stand.

Losing Tote Ticket:

Another great competition open to all race-goers. Simply write your details - name, address and contact number on the back of a losing tote ticket and deposit in the draw drum at the Tote Account Office - located opposite the Champagne Bar.Draw will take place daily in the Parade Ring after the 5th race. Prizes include luxury weekends away for two. 
 

Leading Jockey Award

The Leading Jockey Award sponsored by Rooney Auctioneers

Rooney Auctioneers, Eyre Square, Galway sponsor the ‘Jockeys Championship’ at the Galway Races Summer Festival Meeting, and have been doing so for thirty years. The jockeys with the highest number of winners during the week, under Rules of Racing and separately under the National Hunt rules will each be presented with a cheque for € 2,000. In addition to the prize fund a Galway Crystal Trophy will be presented to each winning jockey.

Leading Trainer Award

 The Leading Trainer Award sponsored by Chanelle Veterinary.

Chanelle Veterinary, Ireland’s leading veterinary supplier and manufacturer of veterinary pharmaceuticals sponsor the Leading Trainer Award at the Galway Summer Racing Festival.The prize of €3,800 will be awarded to the trainer who accumulates the highest number of points throughout the racing festival and the runner up will receive a cheque for €1,200.The competition which runs over all 7 days of the festival is based on a points system.

Points are awarded to trainers according to their placement in the races, if a trainers horse comes in 1st they will receive the maximum 5 points, for 2nd place they receive 3 points, and for 3rd place they receive 1 point. The trainer with the highest points wins and takes home the prize-fund and the Leading Trainer Award Trophy.Look out for our leader board each day at the grounds to see who’s winning this particular race. This award went to Dermot Weld again in 2008.
