Leading Trainer Award
The Leading Trainer Award at Galway Races Summer Festival Meeting is sponsored by Chanelle Veterinary, Ireland’s leading veterinary supplier and manufacturer of veterinary pharmaceuticals. The prize of €3,800 will be awarded to the trainer who accumulates the highest number of points throughout the racing festival and the runner up will receive a cheque for €1,200.The competition which runs over all seven days of the festival is based on a points system.
Winner 2012
Dermot Weld took home the Chanelle Veterinary Leading Trainer Plate, a supply of Chanelle’s Animec Paste horse wormer and a cheque for €3,800 for the 26th time on the final day of the Galway Races 2012.
The runner-up prize went to the wire but Willie Mullins came away with the prize of €1,200.
The Leading Trainer award is presented to the Trainer with the most points accumulated over the 7 days of the summer festival. Trainers receive 5 points for a win, 3 points for second and 1 point for third.
