Mad Hatter 2005The competition was high in the “Absolutely Adult Mad Hat” & “Crazy Kids Mad Hat”, 2005 competitions.

The imagination and work put in by all of the entrants was astounding. Three from each category were eventually chosen, to line up for the grand finale on the parade podium as the crowd and judges combined picked the most deserving and quirkiest mad hats created for the day.

First Prize, “The Maddest Hatter” Maria Walshe received a luxury week in Antigua including flights and accommodation worth €8,000! The winner will stay at the Carlisle Bay Hotel and the break includes breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner daily. Carlisle Bay is situated on the magnificent undeveloped south coast of Antigua, the gateway to the Caribbean.

The lucky second prize-winner, “Alice’s Idol”, Leah Hunt, won a weekend break for two in the Fairgreen Hotel including a treatment in the award winning spirit one spa. Third prize, “March Harebrain Hat”, which was Noreen Lydon received a weekend for 2 in the Mercer Hotel, Dublin, including a delicious dinner in Cusack’s Restaurant. Creative kids were not forgotten there were some fantastic Crazy Kid prizes including games consoles and fun passes for City Bowl, City Limits, Galway
